A local outline the captain can assess
The captain remains responsible for operating the vessel. A route diagram or a list of destinations does not override that judgement. Specific landings, swimming stops and anchorages need to be suitable on the day.
Make shore coordination simple
Use one confirmed embarkation point and a clear meeting time. Guests arriving from different locations around the gulf should receive the same written instructions. Additional pickups need express agreement rather than being assumed convenient detours.
More practical details
The booking documents should identify the actual yacht, operator and crew contact for the day. Those operational details come with the selected arrangement.
Understand what crewed means in your offer
Professional handling of the yacht is distinct from catering, drinks service or a host for an event. Ask which crew roles are included and who is responsible for any additional service. Explain your expectations before the quote is finalised.
More practical details
For guests new to yachts, mention that experience level and ask how the briefing is organised. Children, access needs and special dietary information should also be shared ahead of time. The crew can prepare better when the brief is complete.
Work out your time aboard
Divide the hours before choosing the passage
Enter the hours available and the time you want to set aside. Subtracting those allowances leaves a time budget, not a calculation of speed, distance, safe route or arrival.
The allowances exceed the time available. Reduce the plan or allow a longer day.
