A table with the gulf around it
Then define the service: simple provisions, prepared catering or a more involved meal with dedicated crew roles. These arrangements require different planning and should not be inferred from the term private charter.
Fit the route around the meal
A Portovenere and Palmaria outline or a Lerici-side day can leave time for a relaxed lunch if the passage is kept in proportion. Tell the skipper that the meal is central so the proposed day is not dominated by a longer coastal excursion.
More practical details
Share dietary needs, children's preferences and the drinks you want before the menu is settled. Ask how additional provisions are charged and who handles service and clearing.
For a restaurant ashore
Going ashore involves more than choosing a waterfront restaurant. The selected yacht needs a workable berth or transfer arrangement, and the reservation must fit the passage and return. Ask who is responsible for each part.
More practical details
Discuss the alternative if conditions make the planned landing unsuitable. Cancellation or change terms for separately arranged food and shore services should be understood before the date, particularly when the meal is the main occasion.
Work out your time aboard
Divide the hours before choosing the passage
Enter the hours available and the time you want to set aside. Subtracting those allowances leaves a time budget, not a calculation of speed, distance, safe route or arrival.
The allowances exceed the time available. Reduce the plan or allow a longer day.
